The excesses of last night’s dinner meant there was no way I was able face a breakfast as hearty as yesterday. I raided the copiously stocked breakfast bar and returned with a banana and a glass of water. I know, last of the party people!
I did wonder about the wisdom of such meagre rations given that it’s shopping day … AGAIN! I have no idea how it seems to come around so quickly.
The Good News – Given the world-wide shortage of everything we needed to buy the shopping didn’t take half as long as it might have done!
The Bad News – I have no idea what we’re going to eat this week!
An Excellent Plan – An online friend reported her local shop had a plentiful supply of lettuce, something she can’t abide. We struck a deal! She was more than prepared to swap said copious supplies of lettuce for even more copious supplies of chocolate LOL That seemed to be an eminently sensible idea to both of us, despite me feeling I came off slightly worse with the deal!
Better news on the courgette (zucchini) front with limited supplies available.
I had to wait to get home before I could even start today’s 40 km. Worse than that, having missed Mass this morning, it needed to be done in double quick time so we could get to the 5pm service. Once I got in my groove it was all done well before we needed to leave. I think I’ve changed in and out of my biking gear more times this weekend than the entire previous two weeks!
640 km done, 1360 km to go.
