Today was the end of January. Whilst that’s not normally something worthy of a celebration, it most certainly is if you’ve:
- Been exceptionally diligent in the health and fitness department
- Have an Apple Watch
Yes, hot on the heels of my perfect 7 day badge from yesterday, today brought with it a perfect January badge. Since I had to complete not only today’s 40 km but also burn off 600 calories and stand for 12 hours to earn this magnificent bounty I wasn’t really in a fit state to fully enjoy it. Well not until I’d had a lie down anyway!
I must give a shout out to my cheerleaders. You are amazingly supportive, even sending me pom-pom waving animations to make me smile! (Thank you Cathy, xx)
In an attempt to forestall terminal boredom whilst biking I’ve been using my beloved tech toys. I got quite excited today as I listened to the BBC news who reported the results of an investigation to answer the question; “Will exercise make me hungry?” Well, doh! What do you think BBC? I was mentally planning a complete calorie laden feast once I’d finished when they proudly proclaimed that the result of their exhaustive research was that … wait for it … “the idea that exercise makes us hungrier is a myth”. Dammit! Back to the carrot sticks it is then 😉
