Elaine’s 2,000 km Challenge – Day 12 Update

by | 2 Feb 2017 | ASRF4050

Day 12 and I'm still alive … quite an achievement!

Almost better than that I've had two invitations out to lunch. Both most welcomely contemplated as I nibbled my way through a rather light lunch of grapes and nuts today. As I pondered the options for a lovely social lunch the full horror of my current regime struck me!

After years of being wheat and gluten free, due to a serious allergy, I realized that I am currently:

  • Wheat free
  • Gluten free
  • Sugar free
  • Carb free
  • Dairy free
  • Alcohol free
  • Caffeine free
  • Chocolate free

Dining out could prove to be somewhat tricky!

Undaunted, one of our friends has braved the challenge and is currently in training to create a culinary masterpiece meeting our torturous criteria … way to go girl! I look forward to the lettuce and glass of water no end 😉

I tried not to contemplate what I'm missing culinary wise as I breathlessly staggered my way to another 40 km.

In the midst of much hilarity following along with my adventures it's easy to forget that there is a serious side to all this. Our beautiful local church, home to an amazing community, is in desperate need of roof repairs. If you've been thinking of sponsoring my efforts to raise funds for this worthy cause then there's no time like the present. Every penny raised goes straight to helping out. You can donate directly via PayPal or via the JustGiving page I've set up.

480 km done, 1520 km to go.
