No chance for an early start to my biking today as 9:30am Mass was calling as was our usual repast in the Parish Centre afterwards. We had then arranged a social visit to a housebound parishioner so it was after 1pm before I got back home and even started today's 40 km.
While I was doing that Mike did the honourable thing and headed off to do the DIY shopping saving me from the agony of it all.
DIY shopping wasn't his only task either, the weekly shop was due … yes again! After the recent shortages of lettuce and courgettes he was happy to report both are back in stock. However, he did spend an inordinate amount of time foraging for the last lesser spotted cucumber in the western world … all to no avail! So come on who's bought all the cucumbers in the Manchester/Cheshire area?
Further foraging was required for industrial glue and roofing nails. Both of much less interest since they're not edible! At least not usually but given the lack of foliage it might yet come to that! They're starting to look most appetising!
Heading off up a ladder after 40 km on the bike was an interesting experience and not one I'd recommend to be honest! However, the shed roof is now back in situ on the shed and I decided resting for what little was left of the day was the best plan before another busy week.
1200 km done, 800 km to go.
