Elaine’s 2,000 km Challenge – Day 9 Update

by | 30 Jan 2017 | ASRF4050

How on earth is it shopping day again? It only seems like yesterday we dragged half the salad aisle back home and yet here we are again. After the success of all things lettuce related last week there was much greenery evident in our haul again this time.

However, a major crisis loomed in the vegetable aisle as it appears there is a world-wide shortage of courgettes (zucchini for stateside readers). It seems bad weather in Spain and Italy is to blame. So what's a girl to do? I didn't notice any such shortages in the chocolate department! Fear not though I wasn't tempted, well not much anyway!

Someone who shall remain nameless (yes, I mean Mike!) headed out to the United match leaving me all alone to complete today's 40 km. Handily, the match was on the TV and my iPhone is nothing if not portable. So while Mike lived it up in the Executive Suite I slogged it out with only Siri for company.

360 km done, 1640 km to go.
